Mako O Te Rangi on patrol.

Another busy day on Mars.

Looking for alien butt to kick (click to enlarge).

Sixty-five million years ago on Mars, you could leave the top down because the air was still breathable and no kidding, you could even get a tan in summer. Things are way way different now, no thanks to the Omegons, who in a fit of rage ruthlessly sterilised the entire planet before they departed in a big hurry. But that doesn't happen for 100s of episodes, long after the Maori tribe have all escaped in a hijacked Omegon' starship.

Major set for new promo clip completed.

MARS wasn't built in a day.

Mars 65 million years ago (click to enlarge).

In fact, it took Jake at Magimation over two weeks to build this piece of the Red Planet, which covers about 150 square kilometres of Martian' real estate. The canyon, for instance, where we used the latest pics from ESA for reference, is seven kilometres deep in some places. But the biggest difference between now and 65 million years ago, when the MAORI ON MARS saga all takes place, is flowing water, including rivers, lakes and most remarkable of all, breathable air. Which the aliens stripped from Mars as retribution, after they were humiliatingly defeated. Arseholes is too nice a word for them.

Magimation is in process of creating a new hi-def MAORI ON MARS promo clip, where most of the action takes place inside of this canyon. So that may give you some idea about how huge this virtual set really is! Stay tuned for a dynamite clip.

Holy Hell! screenplay completed!

HOLY HELL! goes to Hollywood.

"I couldn't put it down!"

A first draft Holy Hell! screenplay was finished a couple of weeks ago and Kiwi producer Murray Francis (The World's Fastest Indian) was one of the first to read it.

"I couldn't put it down!"
he said.

Next minute he's on the phone. As a consequence, copies are now on their way to Los Angeles, to David Kern Director of Production at Lakeshore Entertainment (Underworld, Hellraiser) and Darryl Trell Creative Executive at Pandemonium Films (The New World, Dark Water). Both of them looking forward to seeing if Murray is on the money about it. Along with Aussie entrepreneur Robert Raymond of Blue Seas Films who is also keen to read Holy Hell! which should arrive at his Angel Beach HQ at any moment.

What's Magimation looking for? Investment of NZD12m. to produce Holy Hell!, which will deliver 110 minutes of kick-arse HD 3D animation for all us big kids, who'd all much rather drink bourbon than O.D. on popcorn, if y'know what I mean?

3D animation drama has arrived!

Magimation creates new genre icon.

The difference is this, Magimation creates "3D animation drama" for teens and twenties, as opposed to 3D animation cartoons aimed at kids. This includes movies, sitcoms and soap operas. Graphic novels are our inspiration, bringing that look and feel to life is our promise to our target audience of 15-24s, who are starved for decent 3D animation content on any other format apart from games. Magimation is on a mission to rectify this unacceptable situation, with a slate of 3D animation dramas, including HOLY HELL!, MAORI ON MARS, ALPHA and ROBOT REICH, which will be directed by live-action directors, selected for their edgy style.
