Cold-blooded humour rules!

Even lizards laugh

Originally from a primeval jungle planet on the edge of the Andromeda galaxy, the Snaaku are pure bred from the DNA of a ferocious species of predator reptiles. Trained for combat from the moment they are hatched from their purple eggs, these merciless, genetically enhanced hired guns nevertheless still love having a damn good time. When sharing a joke about the Omegons, their despotic masters on Mars, and elsewhere, always raises the biggest laughs. That's why they love singing the lyrics of their screaming music, which is appropriately called reptile rock, because it also pokes fun at the Omegons, obliquely of course.

Memory metal makes the difference!

Fifty years from now, nothing beats a wristcom.

Memory metal, which is as light as aluminium, is one of the very coolest things about life half a century from now.

Where jewellery looks just like beautiful custom made art, until it morphs into an all purpose hi-tech as it gets wristcom.

Maori on Mars on prime time?

Maori on Mars pitched to Kiwi channel TV3!

Yesterday afternoon, the Head of Acquisitions from local TV channel TV3 visited Magimation and we got a chance to pitch Maori on Mars as a prime time show on TV3, or even C4, their youth orientated channel. Either would be cool with us, but we know it's a long shot, because it's pretty damn hard to get a show up and happening on New Zealand TV, so the emerging mobile platform is probably still our best chance to get some traction with Maori on Mars. Meantime, Planet Earth is missing out on some really hot shit. But you never know, so we had to have a go, and we get a yay or a nay from TV3 next Friday.

Magimation attended the international X Media Lab conference at the Hilton in Auckland, a three day "creative industries event" which ended yesterday (Sunday) at the Soul Bar, which included two days of mentoring of the highest quality from world class professionals. Where our new Maori on Mars clip was a standout and we got incredibly positive feedback from everyone there.

Here's some images from the new clip.

STANDBY FOR THE BLOODSTONE HAKA!

Sweet as! Tiki Taane joins Maori on Mars as Musical Director!
How’s that for an endorsement, when NZ’s hottest act Tiki Taane signs on as Maori on Mars musical director! We’re as passionate about the music as we are about story and the visuals, so this is a major coupe for Maori on Mars. We are also equally passionate about delivering an accurate representation of Maori. With Iwi artists like Tiki Taane and art director Inia Taylor now onboard, that’s in safe hands. Tiki and his dad Uekaha are creating a unique new haka called the Bloodstone Haka! This will be the official haka of the Nga Maia and the Maori on Mars signature theme. Bloodstone is the name of a ruby red Martian rock.
