ALPHA gets ready for mobile TV.
ALPHA IS LOOKING OUT OF THIS WORLD!
IT'S BEEN MANY MOONS since we last blogged. We’ve been lost in deep space getting the ALPHA design just right.
Honey has been having an affair with Zool and she's pregnant. Zool
explains how Zoo-o-light women give birth to big beautiful blue eggs.
ALPHA is a sexy soap for late teens and young adults. ALPHA is in-your-face black comedy, a zany mix of contemporary music, wild science-fiction and satire and we wanted it to instantly look like one heck of a lot of FUN! Now we’re very happy, we got there in the end and the new improved design (above and below) combines caricature and cartoon just the way we wanted it.
Only one international distributor has had a peek at ALPHA so far and this is was their reaction:
“Alpha is really funny! Your animation is wonderful and the humour is great. I'm sure you're going to have some big hits on your hands!”– Monster Distributes, Dublin, February 7, 2006
THE PORTABLE DIGITAL VIDEO REVOLUTION
The blog below concerning Disney is now pretty ancient in terms of events which have overshadowed it since. The most significant being Disney’s takeover of Pixar, the most successful CG 3D animation studio on Earth, which has made Steve Jobs Disney’s largest single shareholder. Jobs was Pixar’s CEO and majority owner and of course he’s also the CEO of Apple Computer (and one of its two founders), home of the Macintosh, iMac, iTunes and iPod. These latter two inventions every bit as revolutionary as the Mac was when it was first introduced in 1984, because they're the absolute cutting edge of a new era for music and television.

No one knows more about this new paradigm than Jobs, iTunes is now the biggest retailer of music on the planet and last year it introduced video content. Disney was swift to supply iTunes with content for the new video iPods (another hit for Apple) and today Jobs is sitting on their board. But Steve Jobs can’t sit still for a nano second, so we say standby for big changes as Disney is bent into shape to fit his vision of digital entertainment on the go.
But really, despite the phenomenal success of iTunes and the iPod, the party’s hardly warmed up. Mobile phone companies are fighting back with cell phones that will rival the iPod and the new Google VideoStore is just the first big challenge for iTunes, not to mention what Microsoft has probably got up its sleeve. This is an evolutionary situation with very exciting opportunities for new content, where we believe ALPHA fits like a cyber-glove.
And nothing looks better on these mini screens not much bigger than Marvel comic book frames than CG 3D animation, which Magimation produces in high-definition (HD) resolution.
NB: CBS is also developing a soap for cell phones (mobisoaps), Hey, It’s Me! will run a three to five minute episode seven days a week. Exactly how we see ALPHA being aired.
